Media Breakaway Supports the Local Community

Last Friday, 15 Media Breakaway team members stepped away from their offices for the day to pick up hammers and paint brushes and donate their time to Habitat for Humanity. The team worked on a project in Boulder, CO to provide housing for five families in need.

“Giving back to the community is one of the most important and rewarding things that companies and individuals can do, which is why we developed the Media Breakaway Makes a Difference Program,” said Steven Richter, President and General Counsel for Media Breakaway. “We are dedicated to supporting organizations that bring about positive change in our local community and working with Habitat for Humanity provides a perfect opportunity for us to put our program into action.”

The Media Breakaway Makes a Difference program is a community support effort geared toward providing assistance for various charitable organizations in the Denver metro area. Through the program, Media Breakaway provides financial support, as well as volunteer hours to numerous groups throughout the year.

“While providing financial support is an important part of the program, we really focus on getting our employees involved by giving them opportunities to donate their time and get hands-on experience in supporting different charitable organizations,” said Richter. “Our hope is that every team member comes away from the experience with a greater appreciation of the positive impact they can have on other people’s lives.”

Employee support for the Habitat for Humanity project was so high that a second group of 10 Media Breakaway team members will be heading out to the project site on July 11 to continue the work. The company is also looking at the possibility of adding a third day, to accommodate every team member who wants to participate.

Media Breakaway is in the process of planning the company’s next large community support project, which will take place later this year. Last winter, the company provided support to a local Salvation Army facility, helping to deliver toys and meals over the holidays to local families in need.
